Without fail..

..South Carolina always delivers thunderstorms right before my flight. Which ended up being delayed by 40 minutes but it was o.k. because I had two hours to kill in Houston. So glad I didn't end up getting stuck sleeping in an airport like last time. 

Rice Crispy / Funfetti Cake

Last day in S.C. I had the house to myself to pack and get ready. After a few failed attempts at working the TV controllers I conjured up a plan to walked to Publix (the local grocery store) only .7 miles away from the house. I set out in humid 90+ degree weather; unbeknownst to me SC is not a walking friendly place. You need a vehicle to get anywhere! So there I am walking along the highway as huge trucks and big rigs zoom by. I just love doing dumb crazy things like that. I survived the trek and made a 4 layer funfetti rice crispy treat cake for the Bday boy. Fun stuff!

My shoe broke on the cab ride to south beach.. not even sure how it happened. Good thing for all the shoe stores that were in the area!

Yes, we were the uninvited creeps lurking down at a Jewish ceremony/wedding going on at a nearby hotel from our balcony. 

Butterfly conservatory

Was told my multiple people to come out and see the butterflies. So we made a quick stop before we left key west back to south beach. There were so many of em and little small chicks and birds super cute place.

Bikes

Never again, I haven't biked since I was a kid and I used to enjoy riding around in my banana seated multicolored huffy. Maybe it was the heaviness, wide set handle bars, but this was a nerve wracking experience for me. I am a HAZARD on a bike, an accident waiting to happen.. Well I got the hang of it after a while and was glad a stuck it out but after we got to our destination I didn't want to get back on and ended up walking it back to the rental spot. Hahahaha so pathetic of me oh well at least I know now :) anyway we biked to the southern most part of the US only 90 miles away from Cuba.

6/20 birthday night

Had a great time our hotel was smack in center of it all Duval st. pre-gamed a great deal was able to walk out into the streets with our cups. Had dinner at a little mexican restaurant which was just eh but they had the Best key lime pie ever!! Was able to catch the end of this live bands set (composed of drummer and guitar/singer). They were awesome and super attentive with my requests. Ehh can't bring me near musicians I tell ya! But what a blast perfect way to end the night.

Pit stop for some grub and some booze heading to key west for the next 2 nights. Itsmybirthday!

Roadtrippen

Love long drives! When given the option to fly directly to Miami or fly into Columbia and do the 10 hour drive south I chose the latter. Driving through Georgia at the moment the humidity is high.

DFW

Stopped by Texas on my way to South Carolina. Had an hour to kill so I made my short stay in Texas well worth it. Was egged on after I made my order by some bar goers they were funny. Then they ordered potatoes after they saw mine. So delicious officially on vacation with the first bite.
