Just found this x-mas/new year card from Ric. Can't remember what year it was from. Bur I remember it came with a cd with xmas music. I took it to the old folks home and always played it for them on the holidays. Awww miss u so much! I'm keeping this card forever.

Back from the dead

Oh em gee! Doing some spring cleaning/ throwing things away. Found my oooollllddd laptop in my closet it was a gateway that lasted me about one year before the charger part of the laptop broke. Really sucked since I was in the middle of my online classes at csueb. I remeber taking it in best buy when they told me it was the mother board, and it would be a lot to fix. So I bought my current netbook.. MSI. Can't believe it just turned on the charger is working too, I was ready to give ths thing the boot too!

Projection

Came back to Pam's apartment this place was cuter than her last place. She got this neat little digital camera that has a projector on it. I put my sim card in and we went through the pics from Canada on her wall.

Using these last 2 weeks to meet up with people I won't see anymore. Time to catch up, got plans for Happy hour tomorrow with Amber, gotta call Sandy to see when shes free for coffee, meeting up with the girls from school for some Pho in San Jose on Friday, and planning to stop by Sundown to catch up with the old coworkers sometime next weekend. Also need to see when Nadia is free, and maybe having lunch or something wit Gani and Jay.

Emails from school are putting me on edge. Got 2 weeks before I actually start, but I told myself i'd get all this shit done before I started like get the math down for both maternity and peds. I hate math and I get major anxiety before these test. We get two of them a semester they give us 10 questions, each one is timed one minute for regular dosage and 2 min for IV calculations. Gotta pass with a 90% so you can only miss one questions and you can only take the test 3 times (each time the tests get harder though) So far I've surprised myself. Passed both of my tests of last semester with 100% on the first try.

Here is an example of a question:
The order for Pfizerpen 200,000 U IM q6h to a three day old infant. The drug is available in powder form in a vial with 1,000,000 U. The directions on the vial say add 4.0 mL of diluent to get a solution with a concentration of 250,000 U/mL. How much will you give?

Back on track

Totally blows I've been staying up passed 3am and sleeping in well passed noon. Realized it might take me more than a week to get back into sleeping early waking up early mode. School is just around the corner. Gotta get on the ball reorganize my room and all my 1st semester things need to go into an organized easy to access box. Reality hit last night as I received an email from my new clinical instructor on instructions of our first clinical meeting. So sleepy right now.... all i wana do is zzzzzzz

New Chears was a perk-fest for me. Would have been nice to get together with my girls for a formal new years eve outing but I really wasn't feeling the idea of getting all dressed up, going to a public place with loud hip hop music with sweaty fools grinding and groping... whatevs. I just wanted to chill, and I guess thats what I did. Developed a new love with Sam Adams, but barfed like a betch. At least I wasn't the drunkest one there, that goes to v-neck guy. Anyway blahh... havppy new years, not feeling this change of year at all. The year i turn 28.. fuck I'm old.

Exploring SF

Spent the day in SF with Brenda we hit up a couple of neighborhoods. We drove by UCSF since we'll both have clinical there and she showed me where she used to live. Then we went to Haight for some Pizza.

Then off to Pacific Heights where we grabbed some coffee/tea at The Grove Cafe on Fillmore.

Headed out into the mission to look for some scrub tops. Also saw the bacon wrapped hot dog guy, but wasn't hungry enough to try one.

RugRats

Ohhh dang I havnt seen this show in years! Its great. Kito is here this morning. I would still be asleep if he weren't so loud. Ughh children. He's also sick, I wana catch his cold before I start school. Maybe I'll get it out of my system.

Dream Within a Dream

Been in bed since I woke up 4hours ago. Felt so sad after I dreamt of Ric, can't get the energy to get out of bed. Starting to realize that maybe it was his way of paying me a visit, and i shouldn't feel so sad. Strange how I never let myself get so emotional in front of him in real life yet I did just that in my dream. Miss you!!!

Headed back home. Stopped to see some snow b4 we left Oregon. It was so light and powdery. Of course I fell in the snow and got all wet. We're approaching mount shasta now, while listening to explosions... 'The Earth Isn't a Cold Dead Place'. Epic trip

Space Needle

Got to Seattle last night we're a block away from the space needle. Had a blast last night at this bar 'The Fun House' we got lucky and found something near by open. The people there were super cool. We had a pitcher between the two of us. Everyone was so nice so far Seattle rocks, getting ready to spend the day here.

Crossing borders

Crossing the border into Canada, while listening to 'Boards of Canada' wild! They had us pull over to the side asked us a bunch of questions Gonz's awkwardness made them make us go into their office for further questioning. Things got alittle intense and it totally felt like they were trying to catch us in a lie we were honest though and luckily they didnt inspect the truck. Canada is fucken weird but cool! Very excited to spend tomorrow (Christmas) here and then going to Seattle, heard the 'experience music project' is cool can't wait to check that out. Currently staying at a nice ass hotel/casino in Vancouver.

Getting creative

Made these picture frames for my closest friends in school. Been so long since i went through my old scrap booking stuff, missed the smell of paper and glue. Can't wait to get back into that hobby. Haven't scraped in 4 years so I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Time has no meaning

Love being on vacation! This is what my clock says the current time is. Power went out a week ago still have yet to change the time its still flashing at me to change it. Havn't done it though, not cus I'm lazy but because time is of no importance to me at the moment and it feels great.

Stopped by my aunts place to drop off christophers xmas present. Borders is awesome had some borders bucks to use and saved myself $7!! Haha. I was also able to wrap up his gifts there with their complementary gift wrap supplies. A couple more stops and my gift giving will be done. Just actually bought this book on amazon but there are like 3 more i'm gonna need. hate the way they withhold book info until school starts.

gonna need a voice recorder for lectures.. My Elsa is gonna be in a different lecture group glasses!!! Well my glasses are fine I just need a new prescription been getting way too many headaches. no more plain white scrubs, apparently they scare kids so I'm gonna need to buy some printed colorful scrubs.Borders gift cards always welcomed.

Random ass night, got picked up by Rich K. (The ladies man) we headed out to Broken Record for this kids 22 bday. Hung out with the dudes from commissure, got perked off of everyones beer, and ended it off with a long ass game of Monopoly at Young Eddys. I suck at being the bank.

Carrot cake

Last months randomness

Had lunch with the family last Sunday for Mother's b-day. Little dude was all fitted out in niners clothes.

So overwhelming sad how his own funeral wasn't at all about him... what an awful way to go.

So sad how his funeral wasn't about him at all. The only time it was about him was when his friends stood up to speak of him. All the preaching and forcing their religion on us seriously killed it. It made me numb to the reality of what was going on. I guess it was the parents way of coping with it all but still I couldn't help but think of how he would have hated the entire thing. His parents didn't know him at all and thats what sadness me the most I guess.



No worries Ric we'll keep your memory alive!! Did I mention how handsome he looked... "Forever Young" Mike did an amazing job on him, and Manny the barber rocked his fade!

Lets Groove

The song Rochelle played for Ric just before he passed away. I'm so glad she was with him and that she was able to play one of his favorite songs for him. He loved his music always had it bumping it was so important to him. So glad he had such a great girl like Rochelle in his life. I don't think I have an ounce of her strength. Feels like she knew exactly what to say and do. Shes been through so much these past few months and stuck by his side till the end.

12/1/10 <----- : - ( long faces all the way. If anything I'm glad i was at the hospital when it happened. Also thankful that god stopped his suffering and his parents didn't have to make the tough decision of pulling Ric off of life support. What a rough day for us all. The worst was leaving the hospital alone, thats when I realized how truly comforting it is to have all my friends around at this time. And then the feeling of guilt hit as I stepped outside and took that first breath of fresh air. Not that I would ever wish this upon anyone but Ric was truly an amazing person. Which leads me to question why do these things happen to such good people?
