Ughh

Since our program runs in quarters but the school runs in semester we get no break what so ever between our quarters. Pretty lame, we just had our final for 211 and now we start 212 the next day. oh well we had a good afternoon headed down to outback in San Mateo after the final for some of their happy hour drinks, we had a good time getting to know some of the people in our class we havnt talked to yet. We're aiming for a higher number of peeps to join us for our next final trying to bond with these people since we're all in the same boat for the next 2 years :)

Remedies

Totally feel like I'm coming down with something. Woke up with a tickle in my throat this morning and now its sore :( So I did as my instructor advised and bought myself a cold buster with an extra immunity boost from Jamba. Also got my flu shot today at school, now i'm totally compliant for my next clinical rotation. Can't believe 211 is almost over come Thursday (day of my final). They say everyone gets sick during 212 so I'm gonna try and be extra safe and take care of myself can't see myself missing class or clinical geez I would fall so behind.

music makes it bearable

So listening to lecture for the second time was like the most time consuming and annoying task ever! So I came up with a pretty nifty idea... i have music playing real low on one player like background music and then i have lecture going on on another player at the same time. So now when i have to pause the lecture to type notes or read I get the pleasure of listening to awesome music! It's the bestest idea I've had yet cause now I look forward to putting on the headphones and studying.

What a weekend it was. I so had to get away for a bit and SF was the perfect place to forget my worries. Had a blast on Friday headed to SF after class pre-gamed at Noe's with some $2 tecates and then off to the bars around the ball park. Here's to.. cabbing with strangers, breaking up fights at safeway, bumping into people we knew in bathrooms, guys down to buy us ladies drinks, panda hats, walking into the ghetto, bluegrass, and 24 hour doughnut shops. Saturday was another SF day. Headed over with Amber and shopped on Haight st. So many cute dresses and tank tops. Didn't know we had the same taste in clothes we kept picking up the same stuff. Relaxed the night away with a NIN dvd. Sunday was also great watched some of the Niners game and then off to Danielle's for some Mimosas before the Castro st. fair where we got into some more craziness fun a band of straight guys totally carried a few of us away kinda scary for a second but it was all in fun. Ran into Jon L is a loser a couple of times, haven't seen him in a while that was pretty cool. Danielle, Amber, Kristin and Gina all got Dermal piercings on their chest. Thought about getting repierced but decided it was better off left as is. Now its back to reality. Just got 2 more weeks before my final yikes!! Time to study study study!

so my Zune just did something pretty amazing. It linked up these two songs commissure's Patty Mayonnaise and Explosions in the Sky's Welcome, ghosts. Sounds like a continuation of the other pretty crazy since there are 74 songs on that playlist that my Zune could have chosen.

Not to brag...

but I sorta got the third highest score in the class on that last exam. So unexpected i spent the entire week worrying about it for no reason thinking that i had bombed it. Still don't know how i did it. Anyway I'm gonna settle on it being luck.I can't let my guard down just cause i got a high score. So now more than ever I'm eating sleeping and breathing nursing school.. and that looks like this:

8 hours of school even though im only scheduled for a 2 hour class that day.
2 hours of being at the hospital to get my patients info (only took that long cus the teacher lagged on our assignment)
4 hours of writing a patient care plan, with nursing intervention and pathophysiology paper.
5 hours of sleep :)Zzzzzzzzzzzz
6 hours of clinical
6 hours at borders listening to lecture typing notes , reading, and revising care plan

haven't felt this into school since i took microbiology 5 years ago. I didn't even apply myself this much during my days at CSUEB. I feel like I've given up so much for this I gotta give it my all!

Oh yes and to add more to my plate I've joined the(NSA)Nursing Student Association at school as a committee advisory representative! I've got Amber to thank for that, first meeting is next week! Geez i dunno what I've gotten myself into but I figured this will definitely be my last time in school and I've never joined any kind of function or school clubs so I figured why not!

When all else fails...

So happy i got some free time to spend with my lil niece Meadow mad! She is adorable speaks gibberish and even swears. "shit" lol. We walked down to the local park, i can tell shes gonna love roller coasters she swings without holding on! Had a great time with her and Dale. She head bangs to anything metal, yup shes gonna be the coolest rocker chick ever!!!

Familiar place

Went across the bridge today after open lab to pick up my final project from my senior seminar class at CSUEB. Got an email earlier this week saying it would be shredded if it wasn't picked up. I didnt really care about it that much but since I had to get transcripts from there anyway I figured i'd make the trip. Got to the admissions office to see it compleatly empty the whole campus was a ghost town :( I forgot they are in the middle of their summer break. Ughhh.. ohh well!
